The course aims at providing graduate students with an understanding of statistics and data analysis for managers. The course objective is to teach the methods to be followed after collecting data for a problem to be solved. The quality of research decisions depends to a great extent on the information available to decision makers. Data analysis transforms raw data into information which can help in this decision making process. It will provide prospective managers with an understanding of marketing research findings using SPSS for Windows


The main aim of this course is to provide opportunities for students to learn about the wide range of research approaches and methods in the broad field of management. The course will develop students' personal knowledge and skills in conducting and evaluating literature and research. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES / COMPETENCES

On successful completion of the course, students will have acquired knowledge of identifying key principles of research in social sciences, understanding of the basic research methods, understanding the differences between different research methods.

On successful completion of the course, students will have developed their skills in discussing and applying different research approaches and methodologies in social sciences, evaluating the literature and different research design methods in a given management field, designing, writing and presenting independent researches in a professional manner.

On successful completion of the course, students will have developed their appreciation of values related to the importance of choosing right research questions, the role of methods and researches to both practitioner and academics, the importance of ethical conduct in undertaking research.



This course will examine the theories and concepts of decision making/problem solving to develop strategies/design effective systems in the areas, theories and concepts of motivation, theories and concepts of leadership to develop strategies, theories and concepts of change, and theories and concepts of goal setting, feedback, and conflict management to develop strategies for improving organizational communication.
